Every Dog Has His Day

Published September 17th, 2014 by BH.com Staff

Great words here from a two-time World Champion & Olympic Champion.

Give it a listen, the interviews only a few minutes long, if you haven't already...

I'd like to take a sec and talk about what Jordan Burroughs is saying here...

To me guys, this is what it's all about right here. A guy who goes out there, doesn't make excuses, realizes that 'every dog has his day' and continues to work his butt off to make sure that it's his day & he's on top but when things don't go his way takes it gracefully and like a man. When you compete at high levels, or just plain compete at all, you learn that winning AND losing is 'apart of the game'. Especially when you're the 'standard for the weight class'. You know that everybody is bringing their best for you and you have to be at your best all the time and 'apart of being great is being able to stay injury free, being able to go out there and compete at a high level and protect yourself from your opponents'.

I'll always give you guys my all. In preparation and in competition, thats the only way I know how to work. Big shout out to Jordan Burroughs for the inspiration. (All my wrestlers in high school and college keep grinding guys, trust me, it's worth it!!!) Here's to setting goals, whether it's 6 World Championships or 2 UFC belts, and busting your butt to get those goals.
